Argonaut 2.0

The Argonaut 2.0 drysuit uses the award winning BIOMAP® system to create a bespoke pattern unique to the diver.

At the heart of the pattern development was the quest for improved mobility, stronger construction, greater streamlining, easier gas management, lighter weight and easier donning and doffing – but most importantly, the introduction of an improved women’s pattern, that fits beautifully.

This system, coupled with our online ordering platform, allows complete control over suit design and specification.

The result is more than just ‘made to measure’, it is a bespoke suit built to the exact requirements of the customer.

Achieves European Standard EN 14225 – 2: 2005 for Drysuits in accordance with E U Directive 89/686/EEC. The full suit range includes the Argonaut Flex, Argonaut Stealth, Argonaut Stealth/Flex Hybrid and public safety options.

Arctic

The Arctic’s two layers of high insulation, low bulk fabric, ensure exceptional levels of thermal protection. Constructed with comfort and utility in mind, the minimalist design provides outstanding performance under closer-fitting neoprene drysuits.

In a layering system, the Arctic is also suited for use underneath membrane and trilaminate suits. Using a combination of fast wicking, high insulation fabrics, the Arctic creates a micro climate around the diver, keeping the body dry and warm. A high density inner fleece provides superior insulation, with maximum comfort and wicking, whilst the outer layer, which has a water-repellent finish, ensures a snug fit.

The Arctic requires less loft to perform due to more effective management of air which is held in the fibres of the suit. Instead of maximising the thickness of the layer of air near the skin, the Arctic minimises the movement of air within, reducing the rate of cooling, without any risk of trapping the air and preventing its release from the dump valve.

The Arctic retains a significant degree of its thermal performance when wet, such that wearers have found it possible to complete dives in relative comfort after even the most fundamental drysuit failures. In some cases, divers have not noticed a leak in a neck or wrist seal until after the dive, such is the performance of the fourth element Arctic.

Xerotherm

The ultimate baselayer for use under a drysuit. Made using Polartec® Powerstretch® originally developed for NASA, the Xerotherm traps a layer of air – a much better insulator than water – next to the skin, keeping the wearer drier and more comfortable. The range is designed to be worn under another undersuit or on its own under a neoprene drysuit.

The knit of the Xerotherm fabric produces the fastest wicking effect of any of the products in the fourth element product range. Moisture is drawn out through the fabric along fine fibres and then spreads out over the outer surface. This maintains a thin layer of air next to the skin. This is so effective in the Xerotherm that some wearers report experiencing minor suit leaks during the dive without even noticing until after the dive.

OceanPositive Swimwear and Rashguards

Originally, fourth element OceanPositive products were conceived as a result of recycled ghost nets and other discarded waste – turned into ECONYL® yarn to use in our swimwear and rashguards. We believe, looking to the future, that the issues that surround the destruction of our seas go far beyond just abandoned fishing nets. Being ‘OceanPositive’ spans from not just what we do in the ocean but also what we do in our everyday lives.

For scuba divers, snorkellers and many other water sport enthusiasts, the ocean is a place of beauty and we must fight to help it survive the impact of human activity. At fourth element we are taking small steps everyday to not only improve our products but also to consider the environmental impact of everything that we manufacture. Our swimwear range continues to be made from 78% recycled materials, expanding the range to include more Hydroskins, Hydro Leggings and a Core Range available year upon year.

About us

Company details

Fourth element began in 1999 with a conversation over a post-dive beer in Sharm -El-Sheikh, Egypt. The fourth element Technical range is based around the principles of performance, innovation and function. Using the latest fabric technology with unique combinations and designs, the range revolutionises thermal protection to keep you diving for longer. Fourth element continues to research and develop new and innovative ways to support the increasing dive community around the world with a mantra for quality and perfection.

We are aware of the many and complex environmental issues that we face as a business. From compostable packaging to recycled swimwear and supporting various environmental charities, we believe in doing everything we can to preserve our oceans for the future, which is why fourth element started the Mission2020.org campaign, that was originally conceived by fourth element as a statement of its intentions to eliminate the use of single-use plastic in the packaging of all its products by 2020 and invites pledges from the diving community too.
