Press briefing at a Polish national stand (16/d76)

INVITATION FOR A PRESS BRIEFING

The world’s largest sailing and water sports trade fair – BOOT Düsseldorf 2018 starts in Germany on 20 January. A press briefing at a Polish national stand (16/D76) is scheduled for Tuesday (23 January), 12 a.m. Michał Bąk and Sebastian Nietupski, representing the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports, will discuss the potential of the Polish yachting industry.

For the nine consecutive days, starting from 20 January, Düsseldorf will host the world’s largest yacht, boat and water sports show. Almost 2,000 exhibitors will present their products and services in more than ten exhibition halls. A Polish national stand will be there as well (Hall 16 No. D76). During the press briefing, which is planned for Tuesday (23 January), 12 a.m., as well as on the remaining days of the show, any of those interested will be able to learn more there about the potential of the Polish yachting industry and to obtain information about the offer of our domestic manufacturers of boats, parts, equipment and about related services. This is the support provided by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency within the ‘Promoting economy through Polish product brands’ programme. Similarly, Polish yachts and boats will be promoted in: the Netherlands, Norway, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Turkey, Russia and China.

In Poland, 22,000 yachts are manufactured annually. Our domestic manufacturers specialise in motor boats of 6 to 9 meters in length and in this sector they are ranked 2nd worldwide, after the United States. The unrivalled leaders among buyers of Polish yachts and boats are Norwegians. Only in 2016, they purchased Polish sailing vessels worth EUR 70 million. The second and third place go to the French (with the total export value of EUR 46 million in 2016) and Germans (EUR 44 million), respectively. The total value of exported Polish yachts was almost EUR 350 million in 2016.
