Peters Dive Resort first opened its doors in January 2001. After a couple of exploratory dives on the shore at Lungsodaan, Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte in 1999 the owners Peter and Rosalina decided that this was the place to build a dive Resort. The rest as they say is history.
Since then thousands of divers have visited the resort and many have been repeat customers year after year. The reasons for this are many. Firstly it is easily accessible from Cebu by fast craft and both Tacloban and Cebu airports make it easy to get to the resort.
For diving, facilities are second to none with two heavy duty Banca boats to handle even the toughest conditions. Three to four dives including night dive are offered each day by our experienced and attentive dive masters.
For students, as we are Padi Dive Center our experience Instructor can offer open water to dive master courses and for beginners we have the 10 feet deep swimming pool to gain your confidence before venturing into the ocean.
Special Whale sharks trips are offered from November to May and the resort staff can also arrange non dive day trips to caves and waterfalls. There is something for everyone at Peters Dive Resort and we have accommodation to suit everyones budget.
Guests return here because the Staff gives a hundred percent fulfilling all the needs of the guests. From the booking of transfers to the preparation of accommodation to diving and food preferences. No stone left unturned in making sure the guests get maximum satisfaction from their holiday.
Southern Leyte and its regional capital Maasin is located 3 hours east by fast craft from Cebu and is becoming one of the great hidden beautiful get a ways in the Philippines. Natural beauty abounds, with spectacular caves to explore, numerous waterfalls and mountain trails.
The region however is better known for spectacular diving with its beautiful soft and hard corals and marine life that includes everything from Pygmy Sea Horses to Whale sharks. Dive sites are totally unspoilt since many of them including the world class site of Napantao are marine protected areas.
Padre Burgos at the mouth of Sogod Bay is a chill out place where time seems to have stopped and there is nothing better than the wonderful sunrises and full moons in this location. Historical Limasawa Island also offers a wonderful backdrop to this area and is also frequented by divers.
Padre Burgos is easily accessible from Maasin (24k) by busses and Jeeps. Southern Leyte is also accessible through airport at Tacloban (Northern Leyte) as well as Mactan Airport (Cebu). This holiday you will never forget.
