NAUTIX, manufacturer of fast "T-speed" regatta antifoulings supplies the entire coating for the first French SABELLA water turbine.
During the previous tests made in the last 5 years, it had been investigated where, in terms of maritime growth, the differences lie between the static - as opposed to the non-moving - steel frame and the moving propeller and its housing - the nacelle subsea - of the water turbine.
Nautix has implemented the relevant findings and now supplies the corresponding products : Starting with epoxy coatings and finishing with custom SPC antifouling. This antifouling paint prevents the permanent growth of the propeller and guarantees its efficiency in its work.
In the recipe of the coating also flowed in the preliminary results, which relate to the speed and the associated over a longer period of time associated abrasion of the almost constantly rotating propeller.
Apart from the primers for metal coating, the further coatings can generally be used for both metallic and fiber-reinforced components.
Working with SABELLA, the manufacturer of nacelle subsea, Nautix has benefited from decades of experience developing regatta- and yacht-coatings.
In particular, Nautix's bright-colored Flouo coatings on the rudders and keels of regatta yachts, which enable a good sighting of yachts in an emergency situation, especially in stormy seas, are well known in the market.
Nautix will be present with some other Breton companies at Düsseldorf Boat Show (Booth G54.4, Hall 11), together with its German distributor Time Out Composite.
