OCB - OPEN CIRCUIT BAILOUT MOUTHPIECE

RB110 - OCB Mouthpiece c/w Convoluted Hoses & Counterweights

GB Patent No. 2 443 393

The OCB - Open Circuit Bailout Mouthpiece - enables the diver to bail out to open circuit easily, with one movement, without removing the mouthpiece from their mouth.

The custom designed mouthpiece is extremely compact and lightweight, weighing only 350g in air and is neutrally buoyant in water. The OCB features lever operated switching between open circuit and closed circuit making it very easy to use.

The OCB has undergone the extensive third party testing required for CE approval. It is rated to EN14143, the rebreather standard, EN13949, the nitrox standard and EN250, the regulator standard and in fact exceeds the requirements for this standard. The OCB can be used in fast flowing water, for instance when scootering.

AP Diving's patented dual valve technology allows gas to be fed from the left or right, facilitating individual configuration and is ready for use with high oxygen percentage gasses. Manufactured to a very high standard in our specialist facility, it can be fitted to existing units and is optional on the purchase of a new unit. As with all AP products, full spares and back up are available.

The OCB is available as standard with the convoluted hoses allowing the diver to easily interchange the mouthpiece that is connected to their Inspiration, Evolution or Evolution+ by simply disconnecting at the T-pieces.

PLEASE NOTE: The OCB+hose combination is sold with the current hose-to-T-piece fittings which have different size threads on the inhale side to the exhale. If you own an older AP rebreather which has the same threads both sides, please order by phone: 0044 (0)1326 563834. You can either purchase new style T-pieces (which have improved gas-flow) together with the standard OCB+hoses or alternatively, we will fit an old style fitting to the OCB inhale hose free-of-charge.

The OCB is supplied with a 1.5 metre low pressure hose as standard, using our reusable LP fittings which allow you to shorten the hose as required.

AP COMMANDO

Originally developed to meet the punishing demands of Navy SAR divers, the AP Commando (formerly BUDDY) went on to take the UK and northern European sport and technical diving market by storm, out-selling it's rivals for over 30 years and still going strong.

The current series AP Commando retains the essential qualities and features on which its original success was based - such as superior build quality, lift and surface support characteristics - and adds the advantages offered by reflex technology.

The unique AP reflex comfort-fit system allows you to adjust the jacket fit and customise it specifically to your individual shape - with a one-time simple set-up adjustment in the height position of the waistband, shoulder buckles and the backplate length.

  • Reflex adjustment system - allows you to fine-tune the fit at shoulders, waist and back
  • 1000 denier twin-bag construction - the toughest build quality on the market
  • Optional quick-release integrated weight pockets
  • Multiple lightweight aluminium 50mm D-rings - pre-bent to stand-off for easy clip-on
  • Option to add AP twinset cambands
Options include:
  • APV200 Inflator or the Auto Air octo-inflator
  • Cargo Clips (standard) or Integrated Weight System
  • Emergency Mini-Cylinders - Din or A-clamp
Sizing Considerations:
The Commando is identical in build quality, features spec and upgrade options as its stablemate the Commando Explorer, but the Commando is cut to be a taller jacket which is the better fit for divers with a long back - regardless of height. (The Commando Explorer is the best fit for a regular shorter back). Whatever your body shape - we have a Commando to fit you.

Twinset Upgrade Option:
The supercam single webbing camband comes as standard. If you opt for the supercam twinset kit upgrade this is supplied in addition - allowing you to switch beteen single and twin cylinder setups.

About us

Company details

OUR MISSION…
To help divers dive better – explore further, stay longer and enjoy the ride along the way. We do this by designing and manufacturing innovative (often revolutionary) products that are easy-to-use but enhance diver performance – even in the harshest conditions. Everything we make is conceived, tested and assembled in our factory and research centre in the heart of Cornwall, UK. We aim:

  • To be the be the best in everything we do from the boardroom to the shop-floor.
  • To help educate, support and inform the worldwide diving community wherever we can. Our doors are always open to divers who wish to visit and we’re happy to discuss any aspect of diving – from the operation of rebreather units, to specific dive plans, to advice on DIY servicing and repairs, the supply of custom tools or any other questions you may have. This is not a hollow promise. Give us a call to arrange a visit.
  • To adopt a no-compromise-on-quality approach to every product we make.
  • To enjoy diving with the kit we make.

Right now we’re pushing the boundaries of technical and sport diving through advanced product development – producing kit that allows divers to unlock their potential and expand their dive horizons safely, efficiently and in comfort. Our 6th generation Inspiration range of closed circuit rebreathers is a testament to our constant R&D drive-to-improve. Through extensive research and punishing test regimes we aim to make equipment for divers that is built properly, works well and tackles the snag-points and problems we all come across underwater. Where that will lead us next, we’re not always sure.

But that’s just part of the adventure.
