Company details

Renaud Bañuls is a naval architect benefiting from hands-on experience on racing multihulls & monohulls. As foredeck crew on Géant, the ORMA60 trimaran helmed by Michel Desjoyeaux and a trimmer on Frank Cammas highly successful Groupama, Renaud has been able to fully comprehend – in the aggressive environment of multihull & monohull racing – the direct implications of design choices.

He gained his experience in yacht design during his 10 year career at VPLP, where, amongst other, he was involved in the design of the America’s Cup winner BMW Oracle, the maxi trimaran Banque Populaire V, Groupama 2 and 3, many Orma 60 and Imoca 60, and the high performance racer-cruiser SIG45, a sleek looking fast sailing catamaran.

Renaud is also lecturer at the Higher National School of Architecture in Montpellier - France - for 10 years

Charles Simonin joined bañulsdesign in 2011.

Sailing and practicing watersports since early childhood Charles entered the high performance and racing world by his yacht design career.
