Unique ideas and new technical approaches Titex Vertriebs-GmbH was founded in 1998 to develop and distribute TIZIP waterproof zippers and new coated fabric solutions. The TIZIP waterproof zipper is a combination of several unique ideas and new technical approaches for making a waterproof and airtight zipper. This is the first zipper system which can replace the well known metal tooth dry zippers, which have been in use since the early 1950s. The first application for the TIZIP WaterSeal was in dry bags, followed by the TIZIP EasySeal for dry suits for surface water sports. Continuous improvements allowed for use of Tizip zippers in semi-dry diving suits and protective garments. 2004 was another important year for Titex. The TIZIP SuperSeal was rated 700 mbar pressure tight and found to be completely suitable for dry diving suits. The TIZIP SilverSeal was created to improve wet suits and steamers by offering an affordable waterproof zipper, safe and stable enough to last at least as long as the suit itself. This zipper was an immediate success. In early 2005 Titex introduced special zippers approved for the use in immersion and survival suits, the TIZIP RescueSeal E and the TIZIP RescueSeal S. The pressure rating is 250 mbar and 700 mbar, respectively. There is a special top end which is easy to open, and a large red plastic handle, which is easy to grab with thick neoprene gloves. Several variations of TIZIP waterproof zippers are in use for many different applications such as inflatables, waterproof containers, waterproof covers, textile constructions and marine covers. We have been constantly looking for new applications and are always ready to improve and change our products. More new products can be expected. Late 2006 we presented the all new TIZIP MasterSeal 10. This waterproof and 500 mbar airtight zipper is a brand new design, completely different from the other TIZIP types. It is easy to pull and more flexible than any other waterproof zipper. It will allow new interesting dry suit designs and many other applications which before today had no waterproof zipper due to their specific limitations in size, flexibility and overall performance.
