Sail Catamarans - Leopard 40

Leopard Catamarans holds true to its global reputation for high quality and seaworthy yachts boasting generous equipment options and layouts designed with livability in mind. In addition to the sailing fleet, Leopard Catamarans also produces superior power catamarans which are both contemporary and economical.

The Leopard 40, a product of South African boat builders Robertson & Caine, features a unique, modern design thanks to experienced naval architects Simonis and Voogd as well as Robertson & Caine's design team. She resembles her predecessors in speed, agility, and blue-water performance, but her enhancements include an increased hull volume and an innovative interior layout.

Like the rest of the Leopard line, the new Leopard 40 includes a light blonde interior with a light, modern and airy feel. However, her interior salon layout is unlike any Leopard before her. Her galley is located forward and the forward-facing settee and table are now located aft. This allows for a panoramic view with large sliding glass doors between the saloon and the aft cockpit. This arrangement promotes easy communication for guests and an open flow between the saloon and the aft cockpit, creating a fusion of indoor and outdoor living space.

In addition, the galley area includes a large forward-facing window and an access door to the forward platform of the boat. The access door enhances the open concept feel and easy navigation in and around the yacht. It also promotes ventilation throughout the interior.

Power Catamarans - Leopard 43 PC

Leopard Catamarans holds true to its global reputation for high quality and seaworthy yachts boasting generous equipment options and layouts designed with livability in mind. In addition to the sailing fleet, Leopard Catamarans also produces superior power catamarans which are both contemporary and economical.

There were no details left unattended in the creation of the new Leopard 43 Powercat, including the hull design, the updated interior, and much more. Built by Robertson & Caine with exterior design by Simonis Voogd Design, the Leopard 43 Powercat replaces the Leopard 39 Powercat. The Leopard 43 PC is a completely redesigned mid-sized catamaran built with the quality foundation that has come to be expected of Leopard Catamarans.

The stepped hull design adds interior volume above the waterline, allowing for roomier accommodations in the hulls without sacrificing the performance of the yacht. With narrower hulls and less wetted surface below the waterline, the Leopard 43 PC reaches an impressive maximum speed of 24 knots and maintains exceptional fuel efficiency consistent with all Leopard power catamaran models.

The Leopard 43 PC features a large flybridge which includes a grill, wet bar and direct access to the sunbathing platform found forward. Inside, the galley of this powercat is located forward and the forward-facing settee and table are now located aft. This layout, with sliding glass doors between the settee and aft cockpit seating area, plus a large window forward and access door to the bow, allow for nearly 360-degree panoramic views and create a feeling of continuous indoor-outdoor living space.

About us

Company details

In 1994, South African builder Robertson and Caine entered into an agreement with the premier global yacht charter company, The Moorings, to manufacture specifically designed catamarans for its charter fleet. In less than 4 years, Robertson and Caine delivered the 100th catamaran to The Moorings, with every one of them delivered on their own bottoms around the world: what better proof of their blue water capabilities?

Private Sales
Due to market demand, the relationship expanded with the launch of Leopard Catamarans in the year 2000. Sailors were impressed with the new line of catamarans coming from the Robertson and Caine factories, and were interested in purchasing them for private use, making their own choice of layout, optional gear and delivery locations.

Launch Power Cats
In 2007 Leopard Catamarans ventured into the power catamaran market with the introduction of the Leopard 47 power catamaran. Because of the incredible fuel efficiency of this model, the Leopard 47PC was an instant success. Soon after, the Leopard 37PC was introduced to satisfy demand for a smaller powercat. In 2011 this model was replaced with the Leopard 39PC, and in turn, in 2015, the Leopard 43PC. The Leopard 51PC replaced the Leopard 47PC and includes a multitude of exciting features such as a forward cockpit.

Skyrocketing Growth
In early 2012 the 1,000th Leopard Catamaran was launched, further establishing Robertson and Caine’s position in the catamaran market. Leopard Catamarans has made impressive steps and grown very fast over the past decade, becoming the industry’s leader in the production and delivery of quality catamarans for private and charter fleets worldwide. With a global dealership network spanning 6 continents and 20 plus countries, Leopard owners know that there is always support nearby for parts, expertise or advice.
