Experts will give tips and talk about their experiences at boot 2019.
Inspiration and the necessary amount of courage for your own blue water adventure can be found at the Sailing Center with like-minded people who are already a few steps ahead.
Long cruises on the high seas, far away from the coasts, anchor-lounging in bays or reefs and the deep blue sea, all this is characteristic of blue water sailing. A dream for many passionate sailors, which in some cases surprisingly leads to a circumnavigation of the world. The list of blue water experts who get together on stage in the Sailing Center of boot Düsseldorf and inspire the fair visitors with their experiences is long.
Lots of Blue Water knowledge
Laura Dekker
Laura Dekker is the youngest solo circumnavigator in the world. At the age of 14 she set off alone to sail around the world and two years later she successfully completed her voyage, presenting her newly founded "Laura Dekker World Sailing Foundation" at boot Düsseldorf with the aim of inspiring other young people to sail.
Judith and Soenke Roever
The blue water sailors Judith and Soenke Roever, who sailed around the world along the barefoot route in three years, are well known and popular. For the couple it was 1200 days of Saturday. The travel talks of the blue water sailors take the audience out on the oceans. On the two weekends of the fair, they will once again host their popular and extremely successful blue water seminar at boot!

Hinnerk Weiler
He's a circumnavigator on a 31-foot yacht and knows what matters. His tips on everything from boat management to equipment on longer trips are just as unique as his tips on how to cope with everyday life as a sailor when sailing 1,000 miles across the ocean alone.
Markus & Achim
Two young men, best friends, crazy about sailing and climbing, embarked on their journey in autumn 2018. With their yacht "Basecamp" Markus and Achim are looking for challenges and adventures in Scandinavia. Charming and entertaining, they captivate the audience at the fair.
Mareike Guhr
Sailing with passion and across the oceans. After four and a half years at sea and around 45,000 nautical miles in the wake, Mareike Guhr can boast a proud record: 37 countries. 143 islands. 140 fellow sailors. In the Sailing Center she presents her experiences in the South Seas to the public and can also be found at the free boot trip advice.
The wide open sea
Matthias and Maren Wagener
Her motto is "Have a boat - go sailing". Since 2015 they have lived and worked on their aluminium yacht VAST and sailed from Brittany across the Mediterranean to Greece. Car, apartment and a permanent office have been abandoned. In 2018 they dared to switch from monohull to multihull. The monohull yacht VAST was exchanged for an Outremer 51 with a heavy heart and since then they have continued their successful business from there.
Johannes and Cati Erdmann
They too are well-known faces in the German sailing scene, Johannes and Cati Erdmann. Like Matthias and Maren Wagener, the Erdmanns also changed from monohulls to catamarans. Through the change and an Atlantic cruise with the new "Maverick too", the young couple has many new experiences and stories about their life on board to tell.
Sheila Rietscher
Sheila Rietscher has more than proven that you can make your dream come true without owning your own boat. "Hand for berth" she sailed around the globe. In the Sailing Center she brings her journey through the Indian Ocean, the South Atlantic and the Pacific back to life in fascinating talks.
