Dometic Marine launches SmartStart Control A smooth, reduced-surge air conditioning start up

The SmartStart is a single-phase compressor motor startup control that can reduce the startup current surge by up to 65 per cent. By smoothing the startup power demand, the SmartStart helps to preserve the yacht's generator ensuring a longer life and eliminating the cost of upgrading to a larger system.
“The SmartStart is a key product for the air conditioning aftermarket and retrofit which can offer boat owners significant cost savings. By reducing startup surge by as much as 65 per cent, the SmartStart control provides a gentler method of handling a current surge, which can mean the difference between boat owners keeping their existing generator or having to invest in a larger one”, comments Kester Petersson, Director of Sales & Marketing Europe, Middle East & Africa, Dometic Marine.
The current surge or spike can occur whenever an air conditioning system cycles on, possibly causing flickering lights and tripped circuit breakers. In extreme cases, the current surge can cause the generator output voltage to momentarily reduce or even shut down. When this happens, the air conditioning compressor can stall and fail to start. The damage caused to the compressor over time due to these failed startup attempts can be reduced by using SmartStart.
The SmartStart control is available for aftermarket, retrofit and OEM applications and sold through the Cruisair and Marine Air distribution channels. The compact and lightweight system measures 12.7cm x 7.6cm x 5.1cm and weighs 0.43kg, making it easy to install with virtually any existing marine air conditioning system. Furthermore the system is available in three voltage/frequency varieties and can be installed directly into the air conditioning system's electrical box. Alternatively the system's drip-proof enclosure enables it to be mounted externally, depending on customer requirements.
Petersson adds: “The SmartStart is proven as a cost-effective and efficient system for reducing damage to air conditioning compressors. We are offering the new solution in conjunction with many of our air conditioning systems, depending on size and application.”

WAECO IU802A and IU404A PerfectCharge Perfect charging for all wet, fleece and gel batteries with up to 80 amps

Dometic EK 1600 & 3200 Free-standing gas cooker with gimbals

Even when things are getting a bit rough on board, both the new Dometic gas cookers EK 1600 and EK 3200 remain a haven of tranquility. They include gimbals and also feature individually adjustable potholders.
The single-burner EK 1600 and the double-burner

SeaLand 8100 MasterFlush Electric ceramic toilets for the comforts of home

Boat owners have been waiting a long time for this: the new SeaLand MasterFlush electric toilets set the standard for comfort and convenience on board. A modern, compact design, high-quality ceramic bowls, sturdy lids from laminated wood, low water consumption and a three-way flush system are some of the hallmarks of the new sanitary sensations from Dometic Group.

Dometic CV 2004 central vacuum cleaner system Clean performance

The new Dometic CV 2004 central vacuum cleaner ensures sensational, clean results for all yachts and boats. The appliance is about as small as a shoe-box and can be installed anywhere on board in an upright position or lying down. The vacuum unit can now even be concealed in any place you wish.
This is due to a new plug-in system which is separately installed from the vacuum unit, allowing you to store the central unit and the suction hose in different places.
