RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival comes to cinemas across Europe
Be inspired this winter as RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival 2013, the world's most extensive fishing film festival, hits theatres on the European leg of it’s 2013 worldwide tour. In it’s 7th year, RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival is on a mission to celebrate the diverse world of fly fishing, to connect anglers through shared experience, and to create public awareness of fly fishing's new dynamic emergence.
Biggest kick-off to the fishing season
The festival allows the fishing community to share their passion for the sport by attending film screenings across the country. There is no equivalent event in the world. It's the biggest kick-off to the fishing season there is! RISE showcases exclusive premieres from the world’s best fly fishing film makers as well as local content from European film makers. Cinema audiences will be electrified by stunning footage from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Japan, Canada and Guyana presented in high definition on the big screen.
Largest fish that can be taken with a fly rod
Gin-Clear Media's PREDATOR is the feature film of the festival and the follow-up to the highly-acclaimed HATCH. Fly fishermen have always lusted after big fish, those large predators that dominate the rivers, lakes and oceans in which they preside. PREDATOR explores the globe for the largest and most powerful fish that can be taken with a fly rod. These large predators employ all sorts of techniques to maximise their chance of catching prey. Some, like the queenfish use pure speed to outrun and crush their prey in the surface film. Others like the mighty barramundi of Australia’s North use brute power to get a feed. Regardless of the species, a film about fishing for the world’s greatest predators is guaranteed to be a visual extravaganza.
A true celebration of fly fishing
As fly fishers, spending time in wild places brings us closer to the natural world. In this soulful place, we are catalyzed to enjoy, learn and protect. This understanding and commitment to wild places is what defines fly fishers; RISE celebrates and shares this spirit by bringing each adventure to life on the cinema screen. For many, RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival has become so much more than just going to the cinema. These annual fish-fests have become a true celebration of fly fishing, it's an excuse to get together with friends and reminisce about the past season as well as look forward to the season to come.
Presented by Gin-Clear Media, RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2013 will screen across Europe, including London, Reykavik, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Pau, Le Puy, Marseille, La Rochelle, Mulhouse, Geneva, Zurich, Berne, Berlin, Munich, Kiel, Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna, Salzburg, Riva Del Garda and Warsaw.
