CMD Zeus 3000 - now available in three configurations

Cummins MerCruiser Diesel’s Zeus 3000 pod propulsion system continues to expand its reach, and win over novice boaters and seasoned veterans alike. CMD first released Zeus 3000 in 2007 for twin applications. After three years and many hours of testing and validation, the Mercury Marine/Cummins joint venture has reached full production status for triple and quadruple applications of the pod propulsion system.

Triple and quad configurations
QSB5.9 480hp, QSC8.3 600hp, QSM11 670hp, and QSM11 715hp ratings are all available in triple and quad configurations of Zeus 3000. This range of horsepower expands the CMD Zeus offerings up to 2,860 hp per vessel to allow Zeus applications for boats up to 80 feet.

Incredible space savings
A broad range of horsepower is not the only advantage of triple and quadruple Zeus applications. The space savings of the triple and quad installation is breathtaking, often occupying substantially less area than a twin inboard installation. Boat builders can use the additional space to add an extra stateroom to the layout of the boat. Another advantage of the new triple and quad version of Zeus 3000 is that it can include up to three helm stations. In addition to the helm stations, which each include a joystick, there is also the option to have up to four more joystick stations for a maximum of seven per vessel. The auxiliary joystick stations are ideal for larger boats where visibility from the main helm station can become obstructed.

Simplified installation
CMD has made several improvements to the controls of triple and quad Zeus 3000 to simplify boat builders’ installation of the propulsion package and improve the quality and reliability of the system. For triple and quad applications of CMD Zeus 3000, the controls can be shipped and invoiced separate from the engines and pods, allowing the boat builder to split invoices for boats on long construction cycles.
