VW Marine TDI 140-5 - low fuel efficiency

Five cylinders, 2.5 litre engine capacity, 140 hp direct injection with electronic engine management (MDC) and extremely low weight per horsepower: That is VW Marine's Sailing yacht and displacement cruiser specialist. This sturdy and refined 5 cylinder draws its power, among other factors, from a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry (VTG-charger) and from intercooling.

Fuel emission meets EU standards
With a torque of 310 Nm at any speed between 1700 and 3100 rpm, this engine also comes with low fuel efficiency and minimum emissions. For sailing yachts and displacement cruisers we have developed a mid speed version of the 5 cylinder with 3.400 rpm. This allows comfortable cruising with low engine speed. Easily meets EU standards and all expected future emission standards for marine engines.
