Oyster 575 - dual controls in the centre cockpit

For the first time on the European mainland, Oyster from Ipswich shows the 575, the first Oyster equipped with dual controls in the centre cockpit. The hull of this 17.99 m cruiser was developed by Rob Humpreys, who has a wealth of experience in designing fast hulls, for example for the yachts that have sailed in the America’s Cup and the Volvo Ocean Racer.
Designed as a family yacht
The sloop is a composite construction of Kevlar, carbon and E-glass. With its four cabins, the 575 is designed as a family yacht, although one of the two bunk cabins could also accommodate a crew of two. The 28 tonner’s standard keel has a draught of 2.70 m and the 25 m mast carries a 195 sqm sail. The stylish sailing yacht is also fitted with a 5-cylinder VW engine.

Lots of room under deck
Seventy of its predecessor, the Oyster 56, have been built to date, and will continue to be built in parallel to the new 575. Offering lots of room under deck as well as a spacious saloon, the people at Oyster Marine are confident that the 575 with its innovative dual controls will soon set a new standard for cruising yachts of this size.
