Fjord 40 - Flagship of new Fjord line

The twelve meter Fjord 40 is the new Flagship of the Fjord line. It is well known that when Fjord begins a new project, success is assured and this is precisely where the company is heading again with its new direction, in general, and especially with the two versions of the Fjord 40 – The Cruiser and The Open.

Unusual and exciting
Patrick Banfield and Jim Wilshire are responsible for the new Fjord design and they have united under the name "Allseas Design" who are working the drawing boards on the Cote d’Azur and in Australia, to develop the unusual and exciting new Fjord design. That they are also working on yacht projects of over 100 meters is indicative of the level on which the new Fjord will set course.

Design allows light to infiltrate the boat
The Fjord 40 already sports the look that will be the trademark of the Fjord Cruiser in the future: massive glass surfaces in construction. The design allows light to infiltrate the boat and conveys a feeling immensity and roominess in the sheltered salon. Mark Tucker from Design Unlimited designed the matching interior with a discreet and unpretentious touch.

Optimised in wind tunnel tests
The Fjord 40 Cruiser demonstrates this expertise and skill with a thoroughly thought out hull design. The ability and talent to create a design with a hull to beam ration of 3:1 that moves easily through the water and navigates quickly, quietly and economically, is a testament to their advanced know-how. These features on the Fjord 40 Cruiser were optimised in wind tunnel tests with the aid of a well-known automobile manufacturer.
