SmartPilot - easy steering
Raymarine has developed a special autopilot for the Volvo Penta IPS-drive. It no longer has any physical connection between steering column and rudder. For this reason the name steer by wire has come about. The CAN-Bus connections and specially developed software ensure that the console, the IPS computer and the DPU are connected.
Further developments
Further developments by this exhibitor include electronic platinum sea charts by Navonics with satellite photo overlay over the map data with 3-D views from above and below the water, including drawings and photos of the harbours.
