New Helly Hansen buoyancy aids combine safety and style

Helly Hansen Rider

Renowned for designing gear that is innovative, functional and about the real experience, Helly Hansen is combining safety and style in its new range of buoyancy aids. Leading its collection of flotation devices for high-activity watersports is the Helly Hansen Rider+, a low bulk buoyancy vest designed for maximum movement and comfort, and featuring Helly Hansen's LIFA stay dry technology.

Key technical features
Rigorously tested, key technical features and benefits for the Rider+ include:

  • Inner LIFA tech lining, Helly Hansen's versatile performance base layer which moves moisture away from the body to help keep the wearer dry
  • Side zip, for a narrow, shaped, comfortable fit
  • Adjustable webbing straps at the midriff and base to give an even better fit
  • Made with soft Corex foam for comfort on the water
  • The Helly Hansen Rider+ is available in ebony, and comes in a choice of weights from 30 - 90+kg.

    Technical lifejacket
When using a seat or waist harness the Helly Hansen Launch is an ideal choice in technical lifejacket. It's designed to give maximum comfort (it uses soft Corex foam) and movement. For a perfect, tight fit it features low bulk buoyancy, side zip and adjustable webbing straps at the midriff and base. Available in red/navy, steel/ebony, parakeet (bright green)/crystal it is available in weights 30 - 90+kg.

    Toddler buoyancy aid
The Helly Hansen Kid Safe is a buoyancy aid specifically for toddlers. During development the design team carried out rigorous tests to calculate the turning motion - setting new standards for performance and safety at its launch in 2004. They found the lifejacket required a lot more foam and buoyancy, and that the placement and distribution of the foam was key in turning the child over speedily (within 10 seconds), onto a stable position on its back, with its nose and mouth well above the surface of the water leaving the air passages clear.

    Kid Safe
Kid Safe features a large, foam-filled head support (collar), which keeps the head out of the water. The front of the lifejacket is shaped to ensure stability when the child is floating on its back. This unique feature, which resembles a keel, makes the lifejacket extremely unstable when floating face down and initiates the rapid turning process, to turn the child safely onto its back. Available in a choice of two weights: 5-15kg and 10-25kg it comes in fluorescent orange and water print.

All Helly Hansen flotation devices described above are approved according to CE standard EN393 Buoyancy Aid (EN395 Life Jacket for the Kid Safe).
