Pedro-Boat appoints Cantia dealer in the UK and alters house presentation date

Global Yachts in Southampton takes on the dealership of Cantia for the UK. "We are very pleased that Mark Chapman, MD of Global Yachts, will distribute the brand in the UK", says Ivar van der Leij, marketing manager at manufacturer Pedro-Boat in The Netherlands. Global Yachts has experience with the predecessor of the Cantia, the Kent, for which they were dealer in the past. Therefore, they know the market for this boat in the UK very well.’

Global Yachts is a well-kown name in the marine industry in the UK. Situated in Hamble Point Marina, Southampton, they have been active in the brokerage of motor and sailing boats for many years now. Also they have the dealership of Trusty Motor Boats, Midget Yachts and Degerö Yachts. Mark Chapman from Global Yachts: "The Cantia fits our current product range perfectly. We were looking for a slightly larger motor boat than the Trusty, with good sea-keeping for the coastal waters. The 28’ Cantia, designed on CE-design category CE-B, is an excellent addition to our range."

Yearly house presentation
The Pedro Event, the yearly house presentation of ship builder Pedro-Boat in Zuidbroek, The Netherlands, has been moved to an earlier date. This year, the event will take place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of September. Previously, the month of November had always been the time when the event took place. "In order to give more attention to the outdoor activities, we have decided to move the Pedro Event more towards the summer", says van der Leij.

"Besides workshops and presentations of our partners Holland Nautic (Raymarine Marine Electronics) and Kemper & van Twist (Perkins Diesel engines), we will also have the cooperation of a.o. Kuiper Verzekeringen and Mastervolt. The latter will be present with their new presentation truck. Of course, one is also allowed a view inside the production halls and there are possibilities to take a Pedro along for a test on the canal. The visitor will get a real Pedro Experience. For those who want to do something completely different during the Pedro Event, we offer them a tour in one of Holland’s’ largest orchid greenhouses, just across the road from our yard. Here, more than 2.000 (!) different kinds of orchids are grown for export around the entire world."

Invitation only event plus relaxation weekend
The event is on invitation only. Those who would like to attend can send an e-mail to info@pedro-boat.nl with their address, brand and length of their current boat (if applicable) and indicate with how many people they want to come. They will then receive a personal invitation several weeks before the in-house boat show starts. For this weekend Pedro have organised a special package at Fontana Bad Nieuweschans. That will give you the chance to combine an informative and entertaining day at Pedro-Boat with a relaxation weekend at Fontana Bad Nieuweschans.
