Camper & Nicholsons Marinas begin international collaboration with TUI Marine
30/07/2010
Camper & Nicholsons Marinas and TUI Marine, part of TUI Travel plc, have signed an agreement that both parties envisage as the first step towards a global collaboration. From October 2010 Camper & Nicholsons’ Port Louis Marina will be the base for the TUI-owned The Moorings’ luxury charter operation in Grenada. It is planned that over 30 charter yachts will ultimately be based in Port Louis Marina, together with offices, briefing rooms and other support facilities.
All-inclusive crewed vacations
Situated adjacent to the island’s capital, St George’s, and only five miles from the international airport, Port Louis Marina is perfectly situated for arriving charter guests, and grants immediate access to the breathtaking cruising grounds of Grenada and the Grenadines. It’s southerly position makes Grenada a year-round destination, and The Moorings will be offering varied itineraries for bareboat charters and all-inclusive crewed vacations on a fleet of 11m to 15m (35ft to 51ft).
Dedication to quality
Cheryl Powell, The Moorings Chief Operating Officer, remarked, “This new base is a shining example of our dedication to scouting out the world’s best cruising grounds, shore-side surroundings and welcoming cultures for our guests’ enjoyment. They are sure to enjoy the top-notch facilities and service standards for which Camper & Nicholsons are renowned.”

International yachting destination
James Beaver, Operations Director of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, said, “We’re delighted to have been selected by The Moorings as their southern Caribbean base. The momentum has been building in Port Louis since we first opened some 18 months ago, and we already have sailmakers, provisioners, tour operators and other businesses operating out of the marina. This shows the potential for Grenada as an international yachting destination now that the right facilities are in place. We are looking forward to pursuing the various opportunities that this new partnership presents for both parties.”
Future partnerships
Discussions between CNMIL and TUI have included future relationships with their other yachting brands and in other marina locations. This could involve entering new markets as well as locations already operated in by C&N or TUI. Both companies have expressed excitement in pursuing these plans together.
