Fairline's Squadron 65 wins 'Motor Boat of the Year' Award
05/03/2010
Luxury motor yacht manufacturer, Fairline Boats has been awarded the prestigious accolade of the 'Motor Boat of the Year' Award 2010 in the 'Flybridges over 55ft' category for the new Fairline Squadron 65. Hosted at a gala dinner in London early 2010, winners of the Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2010 were announced to an audience of marine industry VIPs and guests.
Three reasons for winning
The Motor Boat of the Year Awards are judged by a panel of boat testers from UK marine titles Motor Boats Monthly and Motor Boat & Yachting. On presenting the Award to Fairline, Hugo Andreae, Editor of Motor Boat & Yachting magazine commented, "This elegant cruiser dishes up three surprises. First, an amazing VIP cabin that is the equal of the 65's full-beam master cabin. Surprise number two is the unprecedented use of large glass windows in the crew cabin, which has transformed the usual kids hideaway into a genuine fourth cabin, fit for grown-ups. And last but not least, the flybridge feels like it's been stolen from a 70-footer. The boat also exhibits Fairline's usual fastidious attention to no-expense-spared detailing, and is packed with luxurious home-from-home comforts, designed to make living aboard a genuine pleasure, however long the vacation."
Second win of a Squadron
The Award was accepted by Derek Carter, CEO, Fairline Boats and Adam Greenwood, Technical Director, who commented: "We are proud that the second motor yacht in our next generation of Squadron models has received an Award. Last year the Squadron 55 won a Motor Boat of the Year Award following her debut in autumn 2008. We are delighted that the design and build of the new Squadron 65 has also been recognised and praised following her launch in May 2009."

About the 'Motor Boat of the Year' Awards
Short-listed finalists are drawn from boats which are currently in production and for sale in the UK. To be judged, they must have been tested by the editorial teams of IPC Media's participating titles, Motor Boat & Yachting, Motor Boats Monthly or Custom Yachting prior to 31 October 2009. The short-list of finalists is not limited to boats launched or tested in 2009, so may include previously nominated (and sometimes winning) boats.
