A look back at boot 2010
Cruiser/Racer and Retro yachts at boot 2010 - a selection

Interior of Hanse 370
Fast cruising yachts with regatta ambitions are referred to as cruisers/racers. They are loved by all who like to sail a bit faster than everybody else.
After HanseYachts took over the traditional shipyard Dehler (Freienohl), Dehler quickly developed five new models. In the mid-range class there is the worldwide new entry Dehler 32 (9.60 m). With a large 9/10 2-sailing rig and pin steering the new entry should enable for the small crew to go fast, in a way that previously was only possible from the 11m class. Furthermore, another worldwide new entry - a Dehler 45 - is on display.

Dehler parent HanseYachts (Greifswald) has further developed the established Hanse 370 to 375 (11.35 m) in the mid-range class. It is avaiable with two or three berths and a communal bath/shower. A distinctive feature in this class are two wheels in the cockpit, in order to have the best overview depending on position.

The Elan 310 Performance Cruiser (9.25 m) from Slovenia - in Düsseldorf for the first time - was conceived for fast sailing and received two rudder boards for optimal inflow under all circumstances. The wheel is mounted on a tilting column in the cockpit, so that the pilot always can see everything from a high angle. Amongst its special features is a carbon gennaker boom that can be extended from the bow.

Dufour 40`E
It sails like a Grand Soleil and is built like a Najad according to the German retailer of the Maxi 1300 (12.70) m from Sweden. He can make the comparison as he represents all three brands. Teak decking and two wheels come as standard. A carbon-fibre mast costs extra.

Compared to its predecessor, the Dufour 40‘, the 40‘ E Performance (12.35 m) from France has been given a more spacious stern from which a bathing platform can be folded out. It has been conceived for fast, regatta-style sailing. Two wheels are almost taken for granted in this class. There is a choice between versions with two or three cabins.

Retro yachts
Classic design and a retro look with the latest technology - already widespread among motor boats - is just making a cautious appearance among sailing boats.
The worldwide new entry N 460 (11.55 m) in the Aphrodite range by the Swedish Najad shipyard emerges with a retro look. Even from the outside, the lines with mahogany mountings and wooden wheels are reminiscent of legendary times. Inside the mahogany theme continues. A nod to modern times can be seen in both ladders on the rounded hull through to the fold-away bathing ladder.
