Start of serial production in 2017 - first orders possible at boot 2017

At the International Media Meeting of boot Düsseldorf, Lutz Lester, CEO of Neander Motors AG, invited the audience of international journalists to take a closer look at the progress of the Dtorque 111 at the comming boot Düsseldorf 2017. Following years of development and hard work, the innovative, young company plans to start production of its compact two-cylinder turbodiesel outboard engine in 2017. In the previous years the boot Düsseldorf provided a grand stage for Shark Neander to introduce their idea of a turbodiesel outboard to the market. The company from Kiel used the world's biggest market place of the boating industry to prepare the market for their product. Following this established partnership, it seems only the logical first step that now the first pre-orders are accepted at the boot Düsseldorf 2017.
Low vibration levels achieved by dual crankshaft technology
The Neander Dtorque 111 turbodiesel outboarder has an output of 50 hp comming from a two-cylinder turbodiesel engine with 800 cc, common-rail direct injection and the unique technology of a dual crankshaft. This means that the engine is not only light, powerful, clean and fuel-efficient, but also runs very evenly with low vibration levels due to the two counter rotating crankshafts. This eliminates most of the vibrations that would have to be expected from a conventional in-line two-cylinder diesel block and which would make its use on a boat impossible. The Neander Shark dual crankshaft technology allows the boat to be operated both from a helm station or at the tiller. With a system torque output of 111Nm at 2,500 rpm, the Dtorque 111 can still keep up easily with slightly larger petrol outboards.

Co-operation with Yanmar for sales and distribution
Sales to and service in more than 130 countries will be ensured by Neander Shark's cooperation with Yanmar Marine International. Until 2009 Yanmar used to produced three-cylinder diesel outboard engines. However, due to new exhaust standards of the EPA and the EU Recreational Craft Directive (RCD), the company's own production was discontinued although diesel outboards were very successful in many markets.
