Adventure on wild water

Michael Vogeley, adventurer

Did you know that you can discover the Sahara by canoe? In the heights of the Moroccan Atlas mountains icy white waters are sent gushing up to 1000km in length into the hot sands. Climber, arctic adventurer and extreme sports fanatic Michael Vogeley from Herrsching has paddled these rivers. He has other claims to fame.

Paddling in the Sahara

He has set world records for ice caving, first ascents of mountains and has skied across the North Pole. He'll be telling his amazing adventures at boot 2006 on the "Wassersport mobil” stand in Hall 11. As well as his tales from the Sahara he will be telling of his journey through the Magellan Straits - how he traversed the Cape of Good Hope in a broken old folding boat.
